What about the Asus ROG Strix G series like the g16 ?
I wouldn’t recommand buying a Legion for gaming. Mine, bought 2 years ago, has a motherboard issue. The PC turn on but the screen stays black. I ve found that a lots of people has similar problems on internet. I also had many performances issues with this laptop from day 1 but it was wirking so LENOVO didn’t do anything. Lenovo is not a gaming brand and I regret I following Jarrod advises. I ll stay on ASUS for my next Laptop.

the legion 7 is a brick, that thing runs so fucking hot on idle, just opening a game menu on the 4080 causes it to hit 100c and throttle like mad

I’m looking for a laptop that can equal or exceed the performance of my PlayStation should my console die. The laptop’s initial use will be for my small business until I retire in a couple of years. My current 17 inch laptop won’t support Windows 12, so I need to upgrade before next fall. I need a laptop that will run my Microsoft 365 subscription, have USB printer port, a good WiFi adapter, extra USB ports, HDMI 2.1 capabilities for my Gigabyte 2.1 gaming screen and ability to connect to my Fanatec wheelbase.

Can you give an honest review to determine which is better if possible?
I have a genuine question: Have you actually daily driven a lenovo product for more than 6 months?
I have owned a Thinkpad P43s, Thinkpad P1 Gen 2, Legion 7 Gen 7, and now a Legion 7 Pro Gen 8. Every single one of these laptops has been incredibly disappointing, with things breaking and taking a long time to get fixed, or just having disappointing performance. The P43s throttled to no end and would often become unusable just web-browsing, the P1 Gen 2 got too hot to touch and would also eventually throttle, the Legion 7 Gen 7 was just an absolute train wreck with more issues than I could even count, and the replacement device I received due to warranty (the Gen 8) has already had issues like blue-screening and freezing. I honestly just feel like Lenovo’s quality is horrible and you should just go for Asus or Razer. But maybe I’ve just gotten unlucky?
How’s the cooling on the scar 18? I have a 2021 Strix G15 with a 3070 and the cooling is pretty bad.
I personally can’t stand Lenovo products.

This was a great video! The only criticism I have is using a 6 year old game for benchmarks doesn’t help very much. Also using the same game across all laptops would help me to compare better. I would like to see how it can deal with games coming out now.

a little off topic, im just quite envious of how these items are priced in your country. in 3rd worlds, these laptops are pumped with additional 20-40% price, which actually sucks coz most of these are from taiwan. and taiwan is closer in my country.
