I had no idea Smart IR hubs were a thing! That’s so cool
What if it doesnt have a remote and it doesn’t turn on as soon as you plug it in though? Like the “game over light” or the “PlayStation icons light”, when you plug them you need to manually press the button to turn them on and they dont have a remote
i did this with google home its amazing to say "hey google play video" and google turns on my tv opens youtube and starts playing my recommended videos

I’m curious how you automate your PC turning on. That’s one thing I haven’t thought of a good way to do. Mine just has one button that toggles the power so even if i had it plugged into a smart switch, it would still need the button to be physically pressed. I thought about trying a switchbot but have yet to order one and they’re not cheap so if there’s a better way I’d love to know

Have you ever looked into using Home Assistant in tandem with the Alexa system? I just got into it and its pretty life changing if you’re in to home automation. I bet you could have A LOT of fun with it! If you’re creative it can really up the "smartness" of a smart home and really make you feel like you’re living in the future

Will this work with a treadmill?
Can you voice control things that have a seperate power button and no remote? Eg: a pc, a lamp with a switch, etc? Because those would just allow power, but not actually turn on without clicking the physical power button, correct?

OMG I changed my Amazon Alexa to „Computer“ to not get my device on when watching YT videos and now you are using „Computer“ too and suddenly it activated hahaha… boy am I glad I don’t have the same names for the lights.. expect my TV….. haha
