GPUs in 2024 gaming laptops are bad, I seen so many RTX 4050’s on £1,000+ gaming laptops.

I got a g14. Not because of the cpu or GPU but the screen. 120hz oled with gsync. First ever and it’s super nice! Ryzen cpu with 780m graphics for chill games and 4060 for more demanding games. Super thin and quiet as well.

My 2022 gaming laptop had its LED panel broken. It won’t work unless i plug an external monitor. Everything is fine except the LED panel.

I’m currently stuck in choosing between msi titan gt77 with 3080 ti and Aorus 17 axf with 4080. Titan is just slightly more expensive but looks like a machine made to last longer than Aorus and any other “modern” laptop with slim cooling design and both i9 and 4090/4080 in it.

well if it performs not very well, maybe its a good time to buy it for people that really needs one because it will be cheaper and cheaper. otherwise the price wil be more expensive when the next gen come out and if they perfrom well.

Reason 4: some are removing expandability. Like the Asus G14 doesn’t have an upgradable RAM slot this year, but last year’s has one. I have 48GB of RAM in my 2023 G14 and it’s great for photo editing
Granted I’m commenting on this 6 months later. Laptops with discrete 4060 and 4070’s are getting quite good with discounts of around £800 and £1000, respectively.
And there’s bound to be some more deals this time of year. For the average persons though, yeah. Maybe worth holding out.

What model of ROG G14 I buy?
With the latest import port dock workers strike all laptops will go up in price after October 2 2024. So get what you can be comfy with for the next chips from TSMC are going to be delayed and have a import strike price adjustments… GO UNION ….. they are fighting for there -entire world of port if robots take there job they need there pensions to be funded by the robots still ..those ai Tesla robots can replace 6 men per robot ..

Just a day ago (or so) I bought a XMG Neo 15 M21 laptop (refurbished) with i7-11800H, 32GB DDR4-3200 of RAM, 1TB of SSD storage, RTX 3080 16GB Max-P (P as in performance) (mobile), 1440p 165Hz IPS display and (not sure if good or bad) optomechanical keyboard. I paid slightly less then 1500€. In my eyes it was a deal I couldn’t pass on, even though it’s slightly out-of-date.
I still think it’s an amazing deal and a massive upgrade for my Acer Chromebook 14 CB3-431 which cost me around 400€. Will the new laptop be almost four times better than the Chromebook? I’d say it’s actually possible, as the Chromebook only has 4 GB of RAM, which means that just the RAM upgrade is 8x improvement! (It also has only 16GB of (maybe SSD) storage).
The Chromebook’s CPU is Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N3160, which has 4 threads, while the new laptop has 16 threads (of course, you can’t really compare CPUs based on their threads alone, but it’s still interesting) which is 4x improvement.
The keyboard on the Chromebook is amazing, except a cat once stepped on the Enter/New Line key and broke it, so it’s much harder to press reliably now.
The display in the Chromebook is 1080p IPS, it’s quite good, a bit dim, so the upgrade should be noticeable, but not by a lot.
The most noticeable difference will probably be the cooling, because my Chromebook doesn’t have any fans, it’s a completely passively cooled laptop, where as the XMG Neo 15, I’ve heard is basically cooled by a jet or an aeroplane or something – very loud.

Since Ryzen 9 HX 370 is now released and ASUS TUF A16 and A14 got it first, but with an old 40xx-Series RTX, it’s safe to say that we don’t have to buy/upgrade yet.
Wait for the new RTX 50xx-Series GPUs with the Ryzen 9 AI 370 or 375 HX CPUs.
The advice could be better if worded in relative terms, like you own one of this version (2023), don’t buy and waste money on this year’s version.
For a person who might be wanting to buy after 5 or 10 years it would not be relevant saying this year there are no CPUs.
Also keep in mind, the norm is STILL 16 gigs of ram, if you compare 2 models which are exactly the same but one is 16 gigs of ram and the other 32, it can cost like 400 bucks more. What is this crap even, it’s just a stick of ram, it should be like 20 bucks more, maybe 40, not freakin’ 400.
Dead Windows, dead Intel, dead motherboards with backdoor rootkits, dead notebooks, dead Blizzard, dead Steam.
Only one platform exist is – "Epic Games" "Unreal Engine", and PlayMarket from Google, but both with weird games, especially Google. And yeah, Chinese tech grows very fast.
