When the pandemic hit everyone was forced to work from home. I set up my home office and got to work. I work as a User Experience (UX) designer at a tech company.

When you work from home you realize that you have a lot more time to get your work done. You’re not being distracted by people in the office trying to talk to you or long lunches with co-workers or time spent commuting.

I used my extra time to do freelance and contractor work. I realized that instead of the inconsistent work and downtime between projects I could get another full time remote job and double my income. For jobs like UX, product management and web development (coding, engineering), the job depends on the work, not on meetings or anything else. If I could get my work done then both companies would be happy and I could make a lot more money.

Well I pulled it off and worked two jobs for 8 months. I was able to pay off debt, pay off both of our cars, dabble in crypto and NFTs and put some money away.

It wasn’t until after my two jobs experience that I realized there is an entire online community doing this. It’s called Overemployed. They’re on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/overemployed/
If you have questions about working two remote jobs they have some great resources. There is also a discord group where you can chat with people that are currently doing it.

  1. What about getting sued? What are the odds of getting sued when you’re just getting started and not making real money yet?

  2. Try getting a laid back night security job where you can save on rent and get paid to sleep in a low key site. On the weekends get a job at a concerige where you can store your stuff for free using an empty locker space, do laundry for free, and shower in the amenities room all on the clock. Get a work from home job and do it there where you work two work from home jobs at the same time while doing that at your third day security job

  3. Well, I think companies don’t care. However, the narcs that run them burn from jealousy that their subordinates are more successful and make more money compared to them, selling real skills.

  4. Catching someone working for another company is as easy as pie these days folks. Everyone knows who is connected to their computer systems. Plus why would you try to do two full-time jobs at the same time? If it is extremely involved there are not enough hours in the day unless it is really slow.

  5. Another problem is you usually have to sign an NDA saying that you’re not going to reveal any information about one or the other and they tend to feel their in competition with each other.

  6. People literally go to another job right after their day job and have no problem with it. Or freelance even…

  7. I’d love one job that paid well where I’m not that busy. A lot of companies make you work two jobs and pay you for one.

  8. Maybe you shouldn’t make YouTube videos about working two jobs if you’re trying to keep it a secret from your employers? 😂

  9. working 2 jobs is not an issue. Working them over the same hours is an issue. I have been up to 3.5 jobs, no issues (except the fact I had to go sleepless 35 hours straight once a week).

  10. WTF? This is why you can’t tell anyone anything. That wasn’t cool of that other guy to say anything about you getting another job.

  11. If you are a contractor then it’s okay. You might check for remote jobs where you can be a contractor instead of a W-2 employee

  12. Fucking kids today, you want every fucking thing on a plate without working for it…what you were doing is fucking fraud!!

  13. Too much hype if I want to work two jobs I’ll work two jobs who is anybody to say anything so long as I do a good job there’s no law against it

  14. Meanwhile I almost got fired 2x from having a ft job and a youtube channel/side income. All depends on your boss and the company! 🤷🏼‍♀️

  15. I travel full time and hired 4 Filipinos on Manpower Genius, now i have 4 people working for the same price it would cost to hire just 1 employee in the US or UK.

  16. Best advice to all of you , stop working for people and start your own business.

Imagine being the person you hide from lol . Stop thinking so low of yourselves and go conquer the world .

  17. This is great but it’s illegal in my country. Is it legal to work as many jobs as you want in the US? And which one provides the social security and retirement and such?

  18. good for you that it worked out ! kudos to all of you who can pull it off I have a family member who did it she’s a superhero mom obviously lol

  19. Is it illegal? I am on my last year before retirement. I’d like to have a strong earning year to offset one of my $0 years when I was a SAHM when my Social Security is calculated. If I can get two remote jobs, and they eventually find out, Would I be fired for cause or just for performance? In other words, would I be eligible for unemployment while I look for my next job?

  20. This isnt rocket science. They all nlknew each others and they all talk. Its politics in the remote industry. Its just not in your face.

  21. Can you fire someone for working 2 jobs? I mean, if you’re getting all your work done for both, It should be anyone else’s business. Is this real?

  22. I wish that was the case on my street. I was traveling for a couple months and the people down the street called the police and they did a wellness check and broke into my home…I wish my neighbours would mind their own business….

  23. you were soft scamming actually, but showcase it as oh shucks… i’m such a transparent “professional” if you are paid for a full time job this is messed up. if your contract clearly says ur a consultant or that you are paid for project delivery, then ok. under any other conditions this is sneaky and u should’ve been fired 🙂

  24. Well was it because you doing 2 jobs from the same skill set? Well clearly it does t take a particle physicist to see that you would be working for 2 companies who are competitors? Also any company will have in its contract stating that any work for a rival company will constitute a conflict of interest…. So what do you expect??? FFS

  25. >>** AT TIME STAMP …. 0:25,,, HOW DID YOU GET CAUGHT.. LET ME GUESS..!! >> ** I,,, ALREADY KNOW.. >> If it is not this , I will be surprised… You used ONE COMPUTER OR THE SAME PHONE… (( I.P. ADDRESS))…. ?

  26. The moral of the story here is "be so good that even if your boss wanted to sack you, they can’t, because going without you would be too hard"
